It was established as an ‘Enforcement Unit’ under the Department of Economic Affairs in 1956 for handling violations under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act,1947 (FERA). Usually, it handles matters related to money laundering and illegal financial activities. You can register your complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
